And it all Happened with a Phone call!!!
When my hubby got a phone call from one of his colleague , never ever thought that it would end up in another trip 😊😊 A journey to explore the south kerala ...This was a day trip to Karunagappally which is 180 km away from Thrissur.. we started early morning ..Actually it was his friend's brother marriage, since it falls on Monday probably a working day and we do not have enough leaves, this sudden sunday journey got fixed up !! We are completely new to this route as far as google map facility and net connection is available can even reach up to Jammu 😂 just joking !! Every time when we make a trip , we try our maximum to have a look on all the famous places in and around ..So this time too it was planned !!! By the time we reached Eranakulam , we both were craving very much and for god sake without much research we found a good particularly a vegetarian one 😊 that gives even more satisfied feel !! A heavy breakfast filled up our empty stomach … The journey continued with full fuel 😂 When we reached Alleppey , the first thing came to my mind was to visit Ambalapuzha Sri Krishna Temple ..It was one among in my to do list .. this journey could make it.
Temple was not closed and it was crowded as a wedding was going on .. I just had a quick glance at the bride and groom ..not bad ...My hubby gave me a scary look ( mind voice you won't change he literally hates these kind of things ) anyways I just ignored and walked inside the temple .. This is more or less similar to Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple ..both places Krishna is the main deity .. It's quite big and old temple, well maintained , architecture has its own perfection …. The prasadam of this temple is very very special and it's world famous too ..It's a sweet pudding locally known as “ Pal Payasam “ which is prepared with rice , milk and sugar… I have heard a lot about it but unfortunately we couldn't get it, as the prasada counter was flooded with devotees and also we were running out of time ….So after offering prayers left the temple and got into the car...I was quite disturbed as I missed the chance to take a spoon of Payasam ...Cool ….will make it happen on some other day !!! We didn't make any more breaks and reached friend’s home by noon...I would say for the lunch.. A wedding eve will always be noisy , crowded with people ..here too I could experience the same …. One thing I noted was when we move from one district to other, the accent,culture, body language too changes .It was cleanly visible there .After having lunch and spending some time, we left from there…. As I was not fully satisfied with the meal, we had to look for another eatery.. There were no good hotels and only a small snack bar could quench our hunger ….It was only noon so decided to visit places in and around .Those who really love historical beauty and would love to have a walk through the ancient properties can get down at “ Krishnapuram Palace “ ...This is one of the oldest palace and museum located in Kayamkulam…. What should I say ..how to describe the elevated style of the royal palace ..It's just awesome … The architecture was so so beautiful, it looked as a newly built one, that much perfection I could find .. It's maintained very well … There is a museum too, where you can have a look on the weapons used by kings, currency coins, vessels used during those period and many more ..Those who love antiquity would really love this place .. Well spent for some time and our journey resumed ..
We couldn't feel the fatigue … I was quite busy with my cell in search of our next spot … Elevated temples were waiting us .. Mannarassala Sri Nagaraja Temple is an ancient temple were Naga ( Snake ) is the main divinity .. It's one among the largest temples in kerala, located amidst of a thicket meadow .. Normally Naga temples are nestled in such a way … There should be enough space for them to freely move ..We reached by 3 .30 or 4. By the time temple was not opened ..so offered prayers at the outside area …..The energy of snake god is unexplainable ..
I found lot of devotees who came to seek the blessings from the powerful Naga including people from Tamilnadu and other states.. The major thing which differentiates this temple with all other ones is that , here the pooja pattern is headed by a brahmin lady ( Mannarassala Amma) They own the whole rights on the temple..
Also couples who do not have child, come here and does “ Uruli Kamuzthu “ an offering to god Naga which would help them to have a baby .. These are the details got shared from the temple management .. I think it couldn't be wrong.. I wished to stay there for some more time.. But it was getting late so we left from there. Even though the sunlight got shadowy we never thought of a nonstop journey. . Alleppy is famous for it's beaches ...So i was very much keen on searching for an immediate seaboard. It didn't take much time for another stoppage at Thottappilly Spill Way Beach ..As the name implies this is purely for Spilling the excess water from Kuttanadu Region ..It owns a unique beauty … The colour of the sand was a mixture of black and white ...I haven't seen this type previously …. Go to any beach, there would definitely be a group of boys who play some sort of sport….Yeah .. It's true for me .. i have seen many and here too. That's actually a beautiful view .. There were many more visitors on the beach …. This spill way is famous for it's harbour and it's coastal police station … A beach has always a special charm …. Varuna Bhagwan protects it very well .. So, guys do have a break on this spot … you will get some positive vibes … It was getting more and more darker ..The next day we both have to go for our duty so can't delay much ...So we continued the travel without any breaks .. Once we reached Eranakulam had our dinner from “ Brindhavan “ a pure vegetarian restaurant which serves both north indian and south cuisines .. We spent almost an hour there since it was occupied with many people and had to wait for long to get a seat and food… Food was really good.. I marked this restaurant in my second visit list 😊 don't know whether that would be possible still i wished so …. When we reached home it was around 11.30 ….. People in the neighborhood were almost fall to a deep sleep, lights were off , no noise ..We too didn't make much sound, got inside.After taking a shower got under the blanket …
